The first passenger to get off had took a look around the entire area of the airport, visible from the ladder to the plane - much to the dismay of the human mass that were other passengers of that same plane. The steps of down of that character were slow and even somewhat royal - as if he was about to receive a curiosity and attention of a few dozen of paparazzi. But no one was waiting for him in the crows of friends and relatives of the other passengers. There was not a friend of a relative of his there. Nor there was anyone who could actually speak of his relations to him, in such proximity of relationship. But that was one of the reasons, which had made his number to enter the contacts of all major player and actors of the world. If the humanity and existence was represented as a zoo, he was the only way in which there would be communication between the distant creatures. But he was not the human, the keeper of that zoo. Nor he was a exhibit of that zoo. And thus , he is outside of anybody’s influence. And for that, he is important.

Umbrella Man was seen a few times, which means that he is sure of his own, daily, self-imposed mission. First he was seen outside of the hotel, in a terrible rain which kept the views of pedestrians away from him. Then he was standing outside of the plane, and he was last seen in illuminator as the plane lifted off the ground. The third and the last meeting with the cold, black void of the eye-piece of his old soviet gas mask was on the plane itself. It seems strange when you are the only one to see a tall figure of a man in the trench coat (this piece of clothing changes quiet often) with an open umbrella (and old model, they don‘t make those any more), and a gas mask which creates some dislike and a barrier of understanding between Umbrella Man and some of the clients. That is a problem for the clients, and is yet another reason why his services are needed.

It is strange what not all of them understand the price to pay. Being a part of the system, he only goes as far, as to move the system into a state to satisfy the needs of many. It is certainly strange to follow some standards, set up by someone who is of no relation to the work. - but what else could there be without him and the standards? Human emotions are the actors, and therefore cannot do the correct and best choices. Take the Umbrella Man for example. He is indeed an emotion. To any simple man he seems otherwise and emotionless. But that’s so simple for the Umbrella Man and others - that there are no explanations. But those are not his to keep for no reason. Alike Sherlock Holmes, he only keeps the needed information. But that is still a large amount. And that s the reason for the briefcase. Knowledge allows him to get the wanted results. Of course, those results are wanted for him. But only gods know all - but he is of no relation. Being a part of the existence, without its influence. This is the most important service of all. That is why diplomat exists. Just a simple reason.

He took a drink out of the bypassing waiters hands, as she was about to walk straight at the clients of deliver the drinks. Sudden disappearance of one drink and a few hundred dollars popping into existence, did not bother her one bit. On her way back she saw a gentleman with an empty glass call her up. She was ready for anything, even for a night meeting. But instead he gave her back the glass, said “Thank you”, and gave a her a tip. She knew it was him who took the drinks and that she should report him... but since the size of the tip was basically the same as the pay, she hid four hundred dollar bills in her pocket. The tip was presented as a pay.

And then finally came the time to meet with the actual client. Diplomat opened up the briefcase, revealing a portable computer. He turned it on and the display showed the loading screen, which proceeded directly into the online mode. The Umbrella Man was watching, and he almost seen through the protection. Or he actually did see through the protection. Either way, it was way too bothersome for diplomats like. And dangerous, knowing some orders.
